Miles of Gratitude: Sugaright Thanks our Truck Drivers

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week marks a special celebration of America’s Highway Heroes and pays tribute to all that professional truck drivers have done to keep our economy and communities moving forward. The efforts and contributions of frontline truck drivers are deserving of America’s gratitude and appreciation. This week is a way to show appreciation to the 3.5 million professional men and women who not only deliver our goods safely, securely, and on time, but also keep our highways safe.

According to the National Trucking Association, every year American truckers drive over 320 billion miles. That is the equivalent of nearly 13 million trips around the globe or more than 1,700 round trips to the sun.

"Every one of those miles represents a stocked store shelf, a package placed on a household doorstep, raw materials delivered to a manufacturer, and equipment transported to a construction site.

Truck drivers are not only the lifeblood of our economy, but an integral part of our daily lives as well. Countless American jobs depend on the hundreds of billions of miles that truckers drive. In addition, more than 80% of U.S. communities depend solely on trucking for the delivery of their goods and commodities."
